We are fortunate that we have been given the opportunity to take a look at the Five Star Hotel in the North, the Fort Ilocandia. Sir Troy gave us 15 minutes to roamed over the expanse of this high class hotel, and take pictures.. A nice side trip! Thanks Sir! =)
6. La Paz Sand Dunes
Located 15 minutes away from the town city proper of Laoag, is La Paz Sand Dunes. It can be reached by a motorized tricycle or jeep. This 85 square kilometers (52 square miles) of protected sandy coastal desert and beach, stretches from Currimao ( north of Laoag) to Pasuquin ( south of Laoag). The desert itself is scenic, yet there is the panoramic view of South China Sea that can be seen at afar.
With its dramatic landscape, the La Paz Sand Dunes is a popular site for shooting local and foreign films. It was used as a location for the Philippine movies Himalaya, Panday, and Temptation Island and for segments of the Hollywood films Mad Max and Born on the Fourth of July.
Some of the activities you could do in the Sand Dunes are riding the 4×4, ATV ride and sand surfing. I suggest you go here at early morning or at near- sunset, to avoid the high- intensity heat. By the way the rate of riding the 4X4, is P1500/ 15 minutes..
When I come back here, I will definitely try that ATV ride...
Whew, it's getting hotter here!..=p
