17. BLUE LAGOON/ MAIRA AIRA'S BEACH
From Timmangtang and Bantay Abot cave, we then hurried to the western side of Maira- Aira's point.
Blue Lagoon or Maira Aira's Beach at far. Wow! Unspoiled beauty of pristine white sand and captivating crystal blue waters, reflecting the cobalt blue skies, calming and relaxing, now I know why some called it the Boracay of the North ( but unlike Boracay which is entirely filled with fine white sand, the sand here is off white to grayish, similar to some part of Boracay's Station 3)
We however, doesn't stay there for so long, coz we have next adventure to make. We hurried then to our next destination- Kabigan falls.
18. KABIGAN FALLS
It's around 10 in the morning, and so before we started our 1.5 km mountain trekking, we take some refreshments at the Nipa Store located near the parking base. Fresh buko , buko shake, ice candies, kariokas, and quail eggs are the usual offers here. Sir Troy paid the Entrance ( Preservation fee) of P20/ head. Half of which is given to the two local tourist guides who lead each group.
traditional ovens for baking Kariokas. Caution: Hot Surface! |
a 45- minute trekking passing rice fields, streams, slightly steep slopes, and wooden bridges |
the falls is nestled inside a thick forest.. on our second stop, we took some pictures
At last we reached our destination. Another breathtaking view!... 120 feet high falls, dropping its super cool water on a concave basin of at most 6 feet deep! Tanggal lahat ng init ng summer at pawi lahat ng pagod! Whew! =)
funny, kulitan moments |
on our way down |
It's around 2 in the afternoon, and everyone is getting hungry. We then hurried back to our hotel in Saud beach, and with our pre-ordered lunch, our stomachs got satisfied.
