Part 8. DAY 2. ILOCOS SUR & NORTE TOUR. PATAPAT.

PART 8. DAY2. ILOCOS SUR & NORTE TOUR. PATAPAT.

We spend the night at Sabrina's Hotel. It's a nice place to stay in Saud since it's just a few walks away from the beach. Adjacent to it is the well advertised Polaris Beach Resort. Their rooms are air-conditioned, with two queen sized beds good for quadruple sharing. Don't have any idea about the price, 'coz our accommodation was included in our package. But if anyone is interested to stay on his own expense and itinerary, I recommend you to check- in on one of the many home-stays in the area. I just posted in my Part 6, Cathy's Home-stay w/ her contact nos. just to help you around. Usual rates are 1000- 1800 ( good for 4-8 persons).

There's limited resto here, so we just ordered here in our Hotel. I tried Vigan Longganisa w/ egg and coffee and with the price of P65 (longsilog), I am pretty much so satisfied.

my travel mates,  my room mates, my new friends
Unto our knowledge, Sir Troy revealed that no group succeeded in visiting the 34 tourist destinations listed on our Ilocos Itinerary. Since we are all young, full of enthusiasm and are adventurous, we accepted the challenge to be the first group to make it on the top. After few planning, we ordered our lunch all-together, so that when we come back from our day tour, our lunch will be ready.

All of us are excited and we headed immediately to the first destination of the day...-Patapat!

12. PATAPAT VIADUCT
This viaduct is a 1.3 km coastal bridge ( 4th longest bridge in the country) connecting Maharlika Highway from Laoag to Cagayan Valley Region.

Coastal mountains, overlooking South China Sea, the bridge is really a perfect place for jump-shots. Unfortunately, when we tried, almost every 30 seconds, there are vehicles passing, thus we have a hard time to take ours.

13. Kalbaryo de Patapat ( formerly known as Paraiso ni Anton)

In less than a 100 meters from the right end of Patapat is the Kalbaryo de Patapat. It was named such because there is a belief that the flowing mountain waters are miraculous. Many people stopped over here, filling their bottled waters, and taking sips, though locals advised that anyone must get water from the tops.

There are lots of street vendors along the road side. I bought my  emerald- colored fashion set for P300.

Ilocano fish bagoong and garlic vinegars are also sold here, but I bought mine in Vigan

Our next destination? Timmangtang Rock and Bantay abot cave...  We got back in our van and we hurried...
