9. Kapurpurawan Rock Formation
Found along the small town of Burgos, Ilocos Norte, about an hour drive from Laoag proper is the well known, much visited White Rocks Formation of Kapurpurawan. It is a breathtaking limestone formations formed via sedimentation and weathering.
We parked our van beside a small nipa house where our guide paid P20/pax for entrance fee.They also sell buko ( coconut juice) and water, and offers comfort rooms for P5/usage.
Afterwards, we made our 15-20 minutes hike towards the area.
Way down was easy, as cemented trail was provided. Reaching the base we found an open field. Near to us were horsemen who offered horse bike riding. What made unique of this spot is not only the rock itself, but the whole ecosystem and geological formations.
