PART 9. AT MAIRA- AIRA'S POINT
( NORTHWESTERN MOST PART OF LUZON)
A. TIMMANGTANG ROCK
Five minutes drive away from the Kalbaryo de Patapat, traversing the Patapat Viaduct, lies the northwestern most part of Luzon, the Maira- Aira's point. The counter northeastern most part is the Sta. Ana from Cagayan Province.
It is the home of breathtaking places, from pristine blue waters and fine sand to the rolling hills and enchanting beach landscapes. These are some of my shots as we travel towards the mystical " Lover's Rock".
For photo addicts, try to take pictures right after storm to see stronger and bigger waves.. I guess, you'll going to love it!
Timmangtang rock and Bantay- abot cave is definitely inseparable. Some locals called them " The Lover's Rock". The huge bell- shaped ( which is named after the onomatopoeic sound-like produced by a bell) is the male, and Bantay- abot which can be seen at the other end is the female.
that's the Bantay Abot Cave ( looks like a big hole on a large rock) |
2. BANTAY- ABOT CAVE
To reach the enchanting Bantay Abot Cave ( a mountain with a big hole on its center) , one must do a short trek on slippery and rocky beach coast. It was formed as such, as denoted from it's position, where huge waves reaches its walls, as for some geophysical reasons, the center was wrecked by an earthquake at 1980's, forming then the unique formations of a hole. It's not an everybody's ordinary cave. So enchanting, as if when you passed thru it, you will find yourself navigating on an unknown mysterious world.
Make sure that you don't wear non- rubberised footwear to avoid accidents.
the boys with our cool guide, the owner of NEC Tours, Sir Troy ( that gwaping in orange man shirt, hehe) |
Bert, girls photo lang toh, naman!, hehe |
the view from the hole is stunningly beautiful... on eastern side is fang-y rocky formations, looks like little guards or bantays.. seems they are protecting it away from Timmangtang... Hmmm!... |
on it's western side are small white beaches, filled with corals, and seashells =) |
you can also hear the echo of the waves splashing the rocky shores inside |
the voyagers! ;) |
